Handmade by Kavya: altenew

Hello everyone!

I am back at the Crafty Meraki blog to share yet another card with some wonderful products offered in the store. I am usually inspired by patterns and posters but this card was actually inspired by a color - Spearmint! I was swatching some new ink pads and I fell in love with this color. I have never used this color before and immediately searched for some colors to complement this beauty. After some deliberation, I settled for coral. Here is how I put this card together:

I ink blended the top half of my panel using a spearmint ink pad. A perfect alternative is the newly released Speckled Egg distress ink
I then used the largest Spellbinders Nestabilities essential rectangles etched die for the intricate dotted edge

I used Antique Linen Distress Ink to stamp Altenew's Statement flower and then watercolored it using Karin markers
I then stamped a sentiment using the same spearmint ink pad and finished it off with some clear sequins

And that's about it! I was itching to watercolor after a long time and this definitely satisfied my craving! I hope this inspires you to try out a new color combo :)

I know it has been a while since I have posted on my blog but I have definitely been cardmaking! Just stopping by to share a card that I made using Altenew's Paint-A-Flower Rose stamp. The sentiment is from Kraftgali's Peony Bliss Die.

Hello Crafters,

I have the honor of being a guest designer at Time Out Challenges! This means so much to me as it is my first time guest designing. The theme for this challenge, sponsored by CAS-usual Friday stamps, is “Lots or a Little Purple with an optional twist of friendship.

For this card, I was inspired by a Celtic knot used a symbol for friendship. I cut the knot using my cameo on some DIY silver card stock made from silver gift wrapping paper from the dollar store! The flowers are from Altenew’s Flower Garden stamp set and were heat embossed using WOW copper embossing powder. For the background, I used a mix of distress inks and Simon says stamp mini inks. For some extra texture, I heat embossed the background using Spellbinders Canvas Prints Stamp (doesn’t this look just gorgeous? Looks so much like linen or burlap!) and WOW pearl embossing powder. The sentiment was heat embossed on tracing paper (a cheaper alternative than vellum paper imo!) using WOW copper embossing powder.

Hey guys!

I know I am way behind on my posts but let's just say that I am not a big fan of writing (probably explains why I am a Computer Science Major!). Today's card is inspired by Altenew's February color inspiration challenge. I actually made two cards for this challenge.

Hey folks!
This is my first post on this blog and I am totally excited to be back in the blogging world after 8 years! I have a new card using Altenew's flower garden stamp and some of favorite WOW embossing powders. The background was made using heart die cuts from a nested heart die set and the flowers were painted using a $5 watercolor pearl set from Michaels! I totally love how this card turned out.
