I am back on the blog with another fun card! I know it's been weeks since I have posted but life's been crazy :) But, I am back for a good reason - it's Sunny Studio Stamps' 7th Birthday Blog Hop that coincides with the new release. If you love critters, this one is for you!

Now on to the card,..I created a fun living room scene using a bunch of winter goodies from the new releases. I also pulled out some older stamp sets! First, I created my background using cardstock and some patterned paper. As always, I ink blended the edges using matching dye inks. Then, I stamped and colored a bunch of images from Penguin Party, Reindeer Games, Cozy Christmas, Christmas Home and Santa Claus Lane. I also created a mini window using a diecut Fancy Frames Stitched Scallop Square.

If you have been following my work for a while on this blog or on my Instagram (check it out here), you know that I love stretching my supplies and using bold colors. I challenged myself to do just that and use as many products as I could from this release.. This fun ornament is quite easy to recreate!

I first started off by stamping and coloring a bunch of images from Deck the Halls and the wreath from Christmas Critters. I then ink blended a mini slimline sized green cardstock using green and navy blue dye ink. I then splattered green and yellow paint for some extra jazz! Later, I diecut various leaves from Winter Greenery from different shades of green cardstock. To make the leaves more realistic, I ink blended the edges using green dye ink and splattered some more green paint! I then added some red berries using the accompanying die and red cardstock.

I used the wreath as letter 'O'. For 'J' and 'Y', I wanted some bold alphas so that they could stand out from the busy background. I ended up using my silhouette to cut these alphas out of green and white glitter cardstock. Finally, I arranged all of them as shown in the images, added some details using a white gel pen and heat embossed a sentiment from Holiday Express on pink cardstock :)

Our official holiday release date is on August 27th, but in honor of our birthday the new products will available as a PRE-ORDER from today morning! How cool is that? There is more...

Welcome to the Heffy Doodle and Sunny Studio Stamps Collaboration Blog Hop! Design Team members from both companies are sharing inspiration using products from both companies!

My card was inspired by the fact that Heffy Doodle is based in the UK! I used a bunch of products from both the companies to create my Queen Elizabeth themed card complete with the palace, her pet corgis and tea :)

I first started off by creating my card base by layering red, navy blue and white cardstock. I used the same colors to create the center circle as well. I then colored various images from Sunny Studio Stamp's Enchanted, Happy Home Neighborhood and Heffy Doodle's Oh Crumbs using colored pencils and alcohol markers. For the Buckingham palace, the old victorian style house image from SSS' Happy Home Neighborhood was perfect! I just layered them and cut off the roof from the ones on the sides. For the Queen, I simply used an image from one of her state dinners as reference. I the finished it off by using the sentiments from HF's Oh Crumbs stamp set.

That's it! Wasn't that simple and fun? I absolutely love creating scenes and combining two stamps from different companies just gave me more options to play around with :)
